TVG will continue its “Chasing the Derby” series Saturday with expanded coverage of the GII Tampa Bay Derby and the GII San Felipe S. TVG's Matt Carothers and Gabby Gaudet will be on site at Tampa Bay Downs with coverage and analysis of the key Kentucky Derby prep race as well as the full card from Tampa Bay Downs, which includes four additional stakes races.
On the West Coast, Todd Schrupp, Simon Bray, Christina Blacker, Britney Eurton and Mike Joyce will lead the coverage of the San Felipe from Santa Anita which will include exclusive news, features and interviews. The San Felipe is one of several major stakes on Saturday at Santa Anita, including the $600,000 GI Santa Anita H.
In addition to in-depth coverage of all of the day's major races, TVG will air a special feature on Carlos Santamaria, assistant to trainer Simon Callaghan. Santamaria will be returning to work Mar. 5 after undergoing a kidney transplant just over three months ago.
